Rusckowski, who will leave the company on April 30 to succeed Surya N. Mohapatra, PhD, as president and CEO of Quest Diagnostics in Madison, N.J., effective May 1.

AMIC licenses radiogel technology for rad therapy

Advanced Medical Isotope Corporation (AMIC), a producer and distributor of medical isotopes, has obtained an exclusive license to eight patents for injectable radiogel technology for use in high-dose radiation therapy. The license was granted by Battelle pursuant to an option between Battelle and AMIC announced in February 2011.

St. Jude calls for retraction of Hauser et als study on lead failures

Causing a flurry of media attention, St. Jude Medical is seeking a retraction of the study published in the Heart Rhythm Societys HeartRhythm Journal by Robert G. Hauser, MD, et al. While Medtronic refuted St. Jude's independent search to Cardiovascular Business, Hauser, senior consulting cardiologist at Minneapolis Heart Institute, said he did not have any comment at this time.
