Philips, Aerogen release noninvasive ventilation system

The Nivo nebulizing system, designed for use in patients receiving noninvasive ventilation, was recently released under collaboration between Royal Philips Electronics and Galway, Ireland-based Aerogen.

The system delivers aerosolized medication through a mask without the use of invasive endotracheal tubing, according to a statement. The Nivo system works with Philips Respironics nebulizing elbows and AF531 mask, and includes Aerogen’s aerosol generator, which is based on a vibrating mesh plate technology to deliver medication to the lungs. The product is available through the Philips Healthcare sales network.
