IBM, Epic make preparations for DoD EHR work

 

 

The Department of Defense has yet to choose which bidder will take on its $11 EHR billion contract, but that has not stopped IBM and Epic from beginning preparations on their collaborative effort to overhaul the system, reports FCW.

In addition to forming an advisory group of 17 medical informatics specialists, IBM has moved to install an Epic Foundation system on a secure, IBM-operated data center at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in West Virginia.
