Catholic Health chooses Orion Health for HIE

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI), a large Catholic healthcare system, has chosen Orion Health HIE to enable physicians and clinicians to access and exchange patient information, coordinate patient care and update patient records throughout its 100 facilities in 19 different states.

CHI, comprised of 76 hospitals, 40 long-term and assisted care facilities, two community health services organizations, two accredited nursing colleges and various home health agencies, will use Orion Health HIE for its $1.5B OneCare program to create a shared, universal health record for patients served in more than 400,000 hospital admissions and nearly five million physician office visits annually across the CHI health system.

Orion Health HIE is powered by Orion Health Rhapsody Integration Engine and includes Orion Health Clinical Data Repository and Clinical Portal. CHI also will use Orion Health HIE to connect to several state HIEs in its service area and the U.S. government’s Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN). CHI expects to complete the implementation of Orion Health HIE in all 76 hospitals and affiliated facilities by June 2015.
