Agfa opens R&D facility in Canada

Agfa HealthCare has opened a research and development (R&D) facility and global data center in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

The center will focus on the development and introduction of software and enterprise imaging technologies that will seek to facilitate image sharing and access to the patient record for healthcare facilities, their clinicians and patients, Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa said. This includes further developments in Impax PACS and RIS and Imaging Clinical Information System and an emphasis on systems such as digital pathology. The facility also will house an Agfa HealthCare data center.
