Kaiser Permanente promotes new chief digital officer

Narayanan “Nari” Gopala has been named chief digital officer for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals. He was promoted from vice president, capability and platform engineering, a role he has served in since 2021.

In his new role, he will lead cross-functional teams in a transformation of digital experiences across the organization, which includes its 12.6 million members and its clinical force. Gopala has more than 25 years of experience leading global digital platforms, including prior leadership positions at Amazon Web Services and Sony Online Entertainment. 

“Our award-winning digital tools have changed the way our members manage their health,” Greg A. Adams, Kaiser Permanente chair and CEO, said in a statement. “Nari has a passion for innovation and the deep technical understanding of both the consumer perspective and our integrated model to help us meet members where they are in their health journeys and deliver digital solutions based on their preferences.”

Daryl Elmochi named COO of Corewell Health

Darryl Elmouchi, MD, has been tapped as chief operating officer of Corewell Health, a not-for-profit health system based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Elmouchi has served as president of Corewell Health East, which oversees the health system’s operations, since 2020 and has been a practicing cardiac electrophysiologist since 2006. 

“A year after the integration that created Corewell Health, we are hitting our stride, culturally and operationally,” Corewell Health President and CEO Tina Freese Decker said in a statement. “The time is right to harmonize our clinical teams to provide the best possible care for our patients statewide. Darryl has demonstrated the collaborative, caring style of leadership that will bring out the best in our system to serve our patients.”

Alejandro Quiroga, MD, was announced as the new president of Corewell Health West, succeeding Elmouchi. 

Allina Health names new COO

Allina Health, a nonprofit healthcare system based in Minneapolis, has named Dominica Tallarico as its new chief operating officer and executive vice president.

She has been with Advocate Health for the past 18 years, most recently serving as executive vice president of the Illinois Market for Advocate Health (previously Advocate Aurora Health). In her new role, Tallarico will be responsible for implementing Allina Health’s strategic plans into daily operations.
