MetroHealth loses another executive

Jane Platten, executive vice president and chief administrative officer of MetroHealth System, is departing from her role at the end of the year.

The news follows the departure of MetroHealth’s CEO, Akram Moutros, MD, who was fired by the board of trustees after it was discovered he had been giving himself unauthorized bonuses totaling $1.9 million. Bourtos has filed a lawsuit against MetroHealth. Platen’s departure was first reported by Cleveland.com.

According to the report, the departure is mutual between Platten and MetroHealth. Platten is the third executive to leave the health system. Terry Monnolly, co-founder of DiGioia-Suburban Excavating, resigned from the MetroHealth System Board of Trustees after disagreeing with the board’s decision to fire Boutros. Monnolly believed Boutros was authorized to receive the bonuses.

Platten first joined MetroHealth in 2016 after serving as chief of staff for the Cuyahoga County prosecutor’s office and director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. She was responsible for advising the CEO and president on complex strategies.
