Advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics have introduced a new type of caregiver into the healthcare space. While human interactions cannot be replaced, caregiver robots could be coming to a physician’s office near you.

The list of robotic caregivers is growing with Pepper, Care-O-bot and Zenbo—and advancements are appearing in both communication and care. Artificial intelligence is learning how to perceive patient emotions and adapting its behavior accordingly. It can also provide educational information by acting as a care assistant and remind patients of their medications.
