Three hospitals achieve HIMSS Analytics Stage 7 status
HIMSS Analytics has recognized two academic medical centers and a rural hospital--a first for HIMSS Analytics--with its Stage 7 award.
These Stage 7 hospitals--Citizens Memorial Hospital in Boliver, Mo., Stanford Hospital & Clinics in Palo Alto, Calif., and University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics in Madison, Wis.--will be recognized at the 2010 HIMSS Annual Conference & Exhibition this March in Atlanta, according to the Chicago-based society.
The EMR Adoption Model in 2005 was developed as a methodology for evaluating the progress and impact of EMR systems for hospitals in the HIMSS Analytics Database.
According to the organization, Stage 7 (the final stage) hospitals:

- Are best practice examples of how to implement sophisticated EMR environments that fully engage their clinicians.
