Siemens offers MR breast imaging software

Siemens Healthcare has released new MR breast imaging software.

The syngo BreVis diagnostic reporting software can show a patient's exam results in a single view--for example, it can show ultrasound or radiography images next to the images from MRI. In addition, a physician can use the new syngo BreVis Biopsy interventional software to plan and perform a biopsy when needed, the company said.

Both the syngo BreVis and syngo BreVis Biopsy software solutions are supported by syngo workplaces.

According to Siemens, in the syngo BreVis Workplace, a physician can display ultrasound or radiography images, as well as MRI, and compare them and then process them individually, on a single screen. It enables automated reporting, elastic image correction of data in case the patient moves, color display of dynamic image information and calculation of lesion volume.

Siemens also says that  the syngo BreVis Biopsy Workplace gives the physician a way to plan and perform biopsies, as the software calculates the coordinates of the breast tissue to be removed.
