Philips, Electron collaborating on development of imaging products

Royal Philips Electronics has partnered with Moscow-based medical equipment manufacturer Electron for the development of CT products, with the hope of expansion into other healthcare products, said Amsterdam-based Royal Philips.

With the partnership aimed at modernization of the Russian healthcare system, the companies said that this year a jointly-developed CT scanner is slated to be released and Philips and Electron hope to collaborate on the development of MRI, x-ray and ultrasound products in the future, at  Electron's R&D and production site in St. Petersburg, Russia.
