Olympus retiring EndoWorks platform

Olympus Corporation of the Americas has announced that it will discontinue its EndoWorks software platform for imaging and workflow management for endoscopy.

Customers were notified in early April. Olympus has developed a three-year phase-out plan to assist customers with ongoing support requirements and migration options.

“As part of the due diligence to assist with the transition decision, Olympus is partnering with gMed, which offers gGastro Suite, and Wolters Kluwer, which offers ProVation® MD for Gastroenterology, to help provide customers with proven endowriter solution alternatives,” said Olympus Director of Public Relations & Communications Michael S. Levey, in a statement directly to Clinical Innovation + Technology. “Olympus is working with both companies to develop ways to transfer customer data from EndoWorks into their respective systems.”

Discontinuing the EndoWorks product line will better enable Olympus to continue to invest and expand in its areas of core competence within several medical and surgical specialties, Levey added.
