Ohio system widens deployment of Allscripts EHRs
Cleveland-based University Hospitals (UH) will expand its deployment of Allscripts ambulatory and acute care EHRs to caregivers throughout Northeast Ohio. The strategic agreement between the health system and Allscripts is expected to support development of University Hospitals' accountable care organization model.
Under the agreement, UH will deploy the Allscripts EHR to 1,400 of its employed multispecialty physicians across Northeast Ohio, and will endorse the company's EHR for independent physicians affiliated with the health system's 10 hospitals.
In addition, the health system will expand its deployment of the Sunrise Enterprise suite of acute care technology at the new UH Ahuja Medical Center, a new hospital opening this year in Beachwood, Ohio. UH will also upgrade its Sunrise deployments in seven other facilities.
The health system will utilize the Allscripts Community Solution to provide one patient record that can be shared by UH-employed caregivers and independent physicians, regardless of whether they use an Allscripts EHR or one from another company, according to Allscripts.
