NextGen portfolio to expand with Opus Healthcare purchase

Quality Systems, a provider of healthcare information systems and connectivity software, has entered into an agreement to acquire Opus Healthcare Solutions.

The acquisition complements and will be integrated with the assets of Sphere Health Systems, which Quality Systems, of Irvine, Calif., acquired in August 2009. According to Quality Systems, both companies are established developers of software and services for the inpatient market and will become part of NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, Quality Systems’ wholly owned subsidiary.

The transactions are expected to be accretive in Quality Systems’ fiscal year 2011, ending March 31, 2011.
