Michigan system adopts InterSystems smartphone app

Spectrum Health, a nonprofit health system in West Michigan, has launched health IT software developer InterSystems’s smartphone app to provide access to personal health information via the healthcare provider’s MySpectrum web-based patient portal.

The InterSystems Ensemble platform assists the data aggregation and gathering of patient information across the Spectrum Health system for delivery to the portal, according to Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems.

Patients can use the portal to pre-register for treatment, request an appointment, pay bills, check an outstanding balance, view test results and discharge summaries, and receive messages, the company added.
