Hyland Software buys Valco Data Systems

Hyland Software has purchased Valco Data Systems, a healthcare provider of document management, document imaging, workflow and health information management integration solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The Salem, N.H.-based Valco provides software, integration, consulting, support and training services to more than 300 hospitals, regional health information organizations and integrated delivery networks. The company provides paperless hospital solutions designed to integrate with software from healthcare informatics provider Meditech.

"Healthcare is the single largest segment of our business, and also one of the fastest growing," said A.J. Hyland, president and CEO of the Cleveland-based Hyland.
