GE debuts wide-bore MRI

GE Healthcare has introduced the Optima MR450w, a wide-bore MRI system.

The system serves the needs of obese and claustrophobic patients that require larger-bore imaging systems. The company also said that the system is clinically optimized for specific anatomies, including breast imaging capabilities.

Built on a redesigned platform, the Optima MR450w has the following features:
  • Anatomy-optimized capabilities for imaging breast, spine and cardiovascular regions;
  • An optical RF system and a new 145-cm long magnet that offer uniform tissue contrast and enhanced MR signal; and a
  • Removable table minimizes time between scans.
