GE awarded $1M for pediatric MRI technology

Healthcare IT provider GE Healthcare, in collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center in Ohio and the Davis Heart and Lung Institute of the Ohio State University, was awarded a $1 million grant for the development of scanning devices for pediatric patients.

The “Pediatrics Populations” project funded by Third Frontier, a technology-based economic development initiative by the state of Ohio, will work toward designing, building and validating new pediatric coils for use in the head, heart and other anatomies, as well as new solutions for surgical MR technology for pediatric patients, said GE.
