Facebook advance care planning tool wins design competition

An advance care planning tool that incorporates Facebook won California HealthCare Foundation’s (CHCF’s) design completion, "Catalyzing Communication About End-of-Life Care.”

The foundation launched the challenge to uncover new approaches to encourage people to complete advance care plans and to communicate their end-of-life wishes to loved ones. The winning entry, "Advance Care Planning on Facebook: Reaching the Non-Activated," identified Facebook as a platform for sharing care planning decisions with family and friends while prompting them to do the same.

CHCF is funding TrueNorth Healthcare to develop a platform that makes it easy to choose a healthcare advocate, and also encourage others to do the same by invitations through Facebook.
