eHealth Global connects six rad centers to provide images to NY RHIO

Physicians are now able to see radiology images—including x-rays, MRI, CT and ultrasound—from six radiology centers in the Rochester, N.Y., area through the Rochester RHIO, the community’s regional health information organization, with the assistance of eHealth Global Technologies (eHGT).

Borg & Ide Imaging, Clifton Springs Hospital, Rochester General Health System, Rochester Diagnostic Imaging, Rochester Radiology Associates and Thompson Health are joining Lakeside Memorial Hospital in providing radiology images to the RHIO for electronic viewing.

Rochester RHIO partnered with eHGT of Mountain View, Calif., using its eHealthConnect image exchange service for access to patient images across participating healthcare organizations. eHGT said its image exchange service stores 30 days of exams and is able to pull older exams on-demand. Also, the eHealthViewer is a single technology with diagnostic quality viewing, image processing and measurement capabilities, according to the company.

As debate simmers over how best to regulate AI, experts continue to offer guidance on where to start, how to proceed and what to emphasize. A new resource models its recommendations on what its authors call the “SETO Loop.”

FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, MD, said the clinical community needs to combat health misinformation at a grassroots level. He warned that patients are immersed in a "sea of misinformation without a compass."

With generative AI coming into its own, AI regulators must avoid relying too much on principles of risk management—and not enough on those of uncertainty management.
