Canada hospital selects Omnicell med management system

Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Barrie, Ontario, has selected Omnicell’s G4 platform for medication management throughout the 299-bed community hospital.

The Omnicell G4 platform provides a single medication cabinet database combined with a consistent user interface, creating a secure closed-loop medication management system, according to Mountain View, Calif.-based Omnicell, a provider of medication and supply management systems and healthcare analytics software.

RVH will implement the company’s OmniRx G4 automated medication dispensing cabinets with secure biometric identification capabilities. In addition, the hospital will deploy Omnicell’s web-based remote medication management application and barcoding technology designed to prevent drug errors and automate medication management, the company stated.
