Badlani appointed CMIO at U of Chicago Medical Center
Sameer Badlani, MD, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago, has been appointed CMIO for the University of Chicago Medical Center.
In this position, Badlani will serve with the executive leadership group responsible for overseeing all matters related to clinical quality and patient safety. He will help lead the Medical Center’s implementation of an EMR and development of a clinical informatics infrastructure.
As associate CMIO, he provided leadership during the spring 2011 phase of the EMR project, promoting clinical adoption of the EMR and aligning the system capabilities with the needs of the organization.
Badlani received his medical degree from the University of Delhi in India. He completed his internal medicine residency training and served as chief resident at the University of Oklahoma in Norman and received fellowship training in medical informatics at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
