Aramark buys Masterplan, ReMedPar

Aramark Healthcare has acquired Masterplan, a clinical technology management and medical equipment maintenance company, in order to expand its capabilities to service levels of hospital clinical technology, including MRI and CT scanners, as well as infusion pumps.

Masterplan, headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tenn., brings to the Philadelphia-based Aramark more than 400 employees who serve more than 230 hospitals and manage more than 300,000 pieces of medical equipment in the U.S.

John Babiarz, president and chief operating officer of Aramark, noted the “growing role of clinical technology” in quality patient care as a motivator behind the purchase.

In addition to the acquisition of Masterplan, Aramark also acquired ReMedPar, an independent provider of parts and refurbished medical equipment parts, and Mesa, a provider of integrated repair and maintenance services to hospitals in 12 European countries.

Financial terms of the deal between the privately owned companies were undisclosed.
