Apple named new IHIE CEO, president

Harold J. Apple has joined the Indiana Health Information Exchange (IHIE) as CEO and President, effective Jan. 24. Apple will lead the organization’s overall strategy and direction and examine new growth opportunities for the Indianapolis-based IHIE.

J. Marc Overhage, MD, PhD, IHIE’s founding president and CEO, will remain with the organization as its chief strategic officer and national policy advisor. Overhage will focus on influencing policy making for healthcare technology at the national level.

Apple was formerly the majority owner, CEO and President of Vector Technologies, a business process outsourcer, consulting and software development company in the life insurance sector, IHIE stated.
