Allscripts EHR gets nod at Lakeway

Lakeway Regional Medical Center (LRMC), a new acute-care hospital in Lakeway, Texas, has selected Allscripts to provide its health IT infrastructure.

The Sunrise Enterprise suite includes an acute-care EHR and computerized provider order entry (CPOE) that will enable LRMC caregivers to create a connected community of health, according to the Chicago-based Allscripts.

LRMC, slated to open in the spring of 2012, will provide inpatient and outpatient services including cardiology, emergency, obstetrics, oncology and orthopedics. It will adopt an accountable care organization model of care, focusing on prevention and integrated care when necessary, Allscripts added.
