Nuance to buy QuadraMed's Quantim HIM business

Nuance Communications has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Quantim, the health information management business of QuadraMed, a provider of health IT and interoperability technologies.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The two companies plan to work together to help customers manage the transition to ICD-10. The Burlington, Mass.-based Nuance said its computer language understanding technology combined with Quantim's integrated, web-based platform will support a transitions to ICD-10.
