Intel-GE technology connects physicians, seniors

The Intel-GE Care Innovations partnership has launched a new portal and social networking application, Connect, aimed at bolstering seniors’ mental health by pre-empting isolation and inactivity.

The system aims to keep seniors engaged on two fronts—with providers and the community. Connect links providers with seniors via an online portal, which allows caregivers to customize wellness surveys, display community information and monitor seniors’ conditions.

Connect also includes an in-home digital device offering brain fitness games and social networking and communication tools. Other features include medication reminders and information about available services, according to healthcare technology developer Roseville, Calif.-based Intel-GE Care Innovations.
