IPC The Hospitalist facing federal charges

A judge in Chicago upheld a government lawsuit against IPC The Hospitalist, a firm that employs physicians and acute-care specialists in 27 states, Bloomberg reports.

The lawsuit, first filed in 2009, alleges the company insisted doctors charge for more expensive procedures than were necessary. U.S. district judge Joan Lefkow also dismissed claims against 29 IPC affiliates.
