Woman arrested on 50-count indictment for impersonating a nurse

A woman in Las Vegas is accused of impersonating a registered nurse. During the course of the facade, she allegedly wrote numerous fake prescriptions and set up a healthcare business without a license.

8 News Now has the full story, citing an arrest report it obtained on Crystal Scott, 44, who faces a 50-count criminal indictment that includes 24 charges of unlawfully prescribing controlled substances, 12 counts of practicing nursing without a license, multiple counts of distributing drugs to a minor, and two counts of fraud.

According to authorities, she was engaged in providing “care” to diabetic children, and the prescriptions included potentially unnecessary insulin. If taken without medical need, it could be fatal even at prescribed doses. Scott prescribed drugs to at least 12 children as part of her work at “Glucose N Glow,” an illegitimate business, police said.

“By falsely representing herself as a registered nurse, Scott assumed a position of trust with vulnerable families who relied on her for critical medical treatment for their diabetic children,” police wrote. “Scott provided false assurances to parents, pharmacies, and school officials, all while lacking any professional license or medical oversight.”

As for the fraud charges—more specifically, identity impersonation—Scott is accused of forging the signatures of two real licensed physicians, writing at least 24 prescriptions with the bogus credentials. Police said they found evidence in her possession that included lab orders in the names of the physicians.

Scott has not had her day in court and remains innocent until proven guilty.
