Stryker’s SonicAnchor aims at improving soft tissue repair

Stryker's Foot & Ankle have developed a new way to treat soft tissue repair with their SonicAnchor technology.

SonicAnchor, a bioresorbable polylactide polymer, is an implant that uses ultrasonic energy to liquefy the tip of the device and fill in cancellous bone, offering a more structurally stable fixation in seconds and lowering the risk of breaking during insertion. Testing on the device has shown a vast improvement in the load stability when compared to current methods

The technology can be used to conduct a range of procedures including: including Achilles tendon repair, lateral and medial stabilization, hallux valgus reconstruction, midfoot reconstruction, metatarsal ligament repair and digital tendon transfer.
