Ping An Global Voyager Fund invests in Airdoc
Ping An Insurance Company of China’s corporate venture fund is investing in AI medical solution company Airdoc, the company announced on Saturday, Jan. 12.
"This is an important investment for Ping An and the Global Voyager Fund. Airdoc brings world class AI-driven medical imaging analytical capabilities in multiple domain areas,” Jonathan Larsen, chief innovation officer of Ping An Group and chairman and chief executive officer of the Ping An Global Voyager Fund, said in a prepared statement. “There are many applications for their solutions within the Ping An health and financial services ecosystem, in China, regionally and internationally."
Based in Beijing, Airdoc is a medical technology company that focuses on using AI to improve the efficiency of medical services. The company develops deep-learning techniques based on massive data and provides intelligent services to assist doctors and help patients.
The Ping An Global Voyager Fund, along with CITIC Group Corporation, is leading the AI medical company’s Series B investment round, according to Crunchbase. Though the company did not disclose how much the fund is investing into the AI company, it did say the fund typically seeks to invest between $10 million and $100 million in companies.
