Medical costs are up to 20 percent higher at hospital-owned physician groups, according to Los Angeles Times

The UC Berkeley research study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, reveals the financial risks for employers, consumers and taxpayers as hospital systems nationwide acquire more physician practices, according to the article.
