Orion Health updates HIE

Orion Health has added a modular suite of components to its health information exchange (HIE) tools, allowing healthcare organizations to customize their exchanges.

According to the Santa Monica, Calif.-based company, its web-based HIE includes features to integrate patient data into existing systems, analyze and report trends, including:

  • Messaging capability using healthcare standards as well as handling of continuity-of-care documents;
  • User-subscribed notifications;
  • Online access to patient records via a clinical portal; and
  • Meeting public health reporting requirements by automating the process of alerting public health authorities of specific health conditions and cases via Public Health Information Network, standard messaging, HL7, email or fax.
