Wearables could be the future in data collection in healthcare

Wearable technology collects a significant amount of patient data, but questions remain exactly how the devices can impact patient outcomes, according to a blog post by Laura Joszt on the American Journal of Managed Care website.

Collecting patient data using wearables is an easy way for clinicians to gain insight into patient care. The wide range of wearable devices also allows for more comprehensive data that include information collected from a number of specialized devices.

However, understanding the outcomes from wearable collected data lacks evidence into actual impact on patient care.
