VitalHealth, Mayo Medical Laboratory to offer EHR technology

Healthcare software provider VitalHealth and Mayo Clinic’s reference laboratory, Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Medical Laboratories have entered into an agreement to offer VitalHealth’s EHR as part of Mayo Medical Laboratories’ outreach technology.

The EHR offering—which the company is previewing at the Fall 2010 Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Annual Conference in New Orleans this week— will support the needs of small medical practices, including point-of-care decision support, population management, reporting and ordering and resulting of clinical and radiology diagnostic tests, stated Milwaukee-based VitalHealth.

The HIPAA-compliant technology is certified for meaningful use and connects via a secure Wi-Fi or 3G wireless connection, the company added.
