Va. MDs association joins forces with Sage

Sage Healthcare is participating in the Medical Society of Virginia's EHR vendor program called Health IT Select.

The Richmond-based Medical Society of Virginia, a professional association for physicians in the commonwealth, and select vendors are offering the program to help Virginia's physicians meet federal health reform and meaningful use requirements.

To participate in Health IT Select, Sage Healthcare Division agreed to adhere to competitive contract guidelines developed by the Medical Society of Virginia, including:

  • Discounted pricing for all medical society members who purchase a system through Medical Society of Virginia Health IT Select;
  • A guarantee to maintain federal EHR certification and conform to federal and state requirements for meaningful use;
  • Any system changes mandated by the government are included at no extra charge
  • Data and source code protections;
  • Additional provider licenses will be issued under the same preferred terms should a practice expand; and
  • Upgrades and new releases at no additional cost.
The program also includes dedicated Medical Society of Virginia staff support that can assist in any troubleshooting during the selection process, as a point of contact for physicians, according to Tampa, Fla.-based Sage Healthcare, a division of Sage North America.
