U of Kansas Hospital integrates CDS into EHR
The University of Kansas Hospital System, a 606-bed academic medical center in Kansas City, Kan., has gone live with Zynx Health's 240 ZynxOrder evidence-based order sets deployed via computerized provider order entry (CPOE).
The Zynx order set deployment follows the hospital’s implementation of more than 35 ZynxCare evidence-based plans of care deployed via its Epic Systems' EHR system in 2010. The implementation of evidence-based order sets and plans of care within the EHR will enable the University of Kansas Hospital System to comply with the requirements for demonstrating meaningful use, stated Zynx Health of Los Angeles.
The launch of the evidence-based order sets was scheduled to coincide with CPOE go-live, according to Zynx.
Zynx products are deployed via software-as-a-service, making customization of evidence-based CDS rules, alerts and reminders available any time at a remote location, the company stated.
