Sermo app links physicians to clinical knowledge in real time

Online physician network Sermo has introduced Sermo Mobile, an application that allows physicians to access medical knowledge in real time.

Sermo Mobile builds on the network's current web platform, an online resource where physicians across 68 specialties and all 50 states can collaborate, discuss and consult with each other to improve care, according to Sermo, based in Cambridge, Mass.

Using the Sermo Mobile app, physicians can download or add photographs of physical findings, x-rays or laboratory results; choose a suitable question from the list available; and send queries to specialists in the network. Members can view and respond in real time, the company added.

Sermo Mobile is currently available for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
