ONC, Health 2.0 launch meaningful use app contest

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) and Health 2.0 have opened a contest for developers who best use popHealth, an open-source reference implementation software that automates the reporting of meaningful use quality measures.

Certified in July as a 2011 Meaningful Use Stage 1 Ambulatory Quality Measure Module, popHealth integrates with a healthcare provider’s EHR system using continuity of care records and helps streamline the automated generation of summary quality measure reports on the provider’s patient population.

EHR vendors and healthcare providers are free to download, use and integrate the popHealth software in their systems.
