NextGen delves further inpatient EDI market with ViaTrack purchase

Quality Systems, an Irvine, Calif.-based developer of healthcare information systems and connectivity technologies, has entered into an agreement to acquire ViaTrack Systems, a developer of IT for electronic data interchange (EDI) offerings.

ViaTrack has been a long-time EDI partner of Quality Systems’ wholly owned subsidiary, NextGen Healthcare. Augusta, Ga.-based ViaTrack will become part of Quality Systems, continuing to support NextGen’s ambulatory clients, while also allowing NextGen to leverage ViaTrack’s infrastructure and technical tools to offer EDI services to its inpatient clients.

The acquisition of ViaTrack allows NextGen to expand its presence in the inpatient EDI market.
