Best in KLAS: End-users review top health IT systems in the US
KLAS Research announced its Best in KLAS 2025 awards this week in about 150 health informatics market segments.
The rankings are based on end-user feedback to surveys and interviews conducted by KLAS. The awards are based entirely off a real-world review of vendor technology performance in hospitals and health systems. The health IT products are then ranked on a 100-point scale. The scores basically show hospital and health system reviews of installed software across healthcare, which can help when making purchasing decisions.
Epic swept most EHR categories—again
For the 15th consecutive year, Epic has been named the top Overall Health System Suite by KLAS Research, having won 14 of the Best in KLAS 2025 awards this week in various market segments.
The Overall Health System Suite rankings are reserved for vendors that offer a comprehensive suite of products designed to meet the core IT needs of health systems. According to KLAS, Epic earned the top spot for excelling "above average" across several segments, including acute care electronic health records (EHR), patient accounting, ambulatory system-owned EHR, cardiology, health system-owned home care, practice management patient portals, population health management, EHR-centric virtual care, long-term care, and oncology.
KLAS has awarded Athenahealth the title of Best in KLAS for Overall Independent Physician Practice Suite. The recognition highlights Athenahealth's outstanding performance across multiple market segments, including ambulatory EHRs, practice management software, patient portals, EHR-linked ambulatory revenue cycle management (RCM), and HRS-focused virtual care platforms.
