Meditech expands, looks to hire 800

Riverfront Business Park - owned by Providence, R.I.-based real estate developer Churchill & Banks - and healthcare informatics software company Meditech are in the planning stages to enter into an agreement for Meditech to purchase approximately 135 acres of land at Riverfront Business Park in Freetown, Mass.

The Westwood, Mass.-based Meditech stated it plans to build an estimated 180,000 square foot office building at the 1-million-square-foot, mixed-use development site and employ more than 800 people at the new facility.

Construction is expected to start in 2011, once all town and state approvals are obtained, with occupancy expected to occur in 2013.
