Massachusetts health system launches EMR initiative
UMass Memorial Health Care, a nonprofit healthcare delivery system in Worcester, Mass., has begun an integrated EMR initiative, known as Cornerstone.
According to UMass Memorial, the multi-year, multi-entity corporate project will integrate inpatient, outpatient and emergency room data from more than 1,500 physicians and five hospitals and community medical practices, including Clinton Hospital, HealthAlliance Hospital, Marlborough Hospital, Wing Memorial Hospital and UMass Memorial Center.
The project will alter the way UMass Memorial collects, views, shares, manages and interacts with patient information over the course of the next four years, said the healthcare system.
