Ireland facility signs DR contract with Carestream
The Mater Private Hospital in Dublin has signed a multi-year contract with Carestream Health to deploy its direct radiography (DR) tool. Installation will commence mid-2010 and proceed in phases with completion scheduled for the end of the year.
For digital capture the contract includes the installation of the Carestream DRX Retrofit System that allows healthcare providers to convert x-ray rooms to DR. A Directview Elite CR system with mammography feature will also enable mammography exams to be performed using the same platform as general radiography and long-length imaging, according to Carestream.
A storage area network and virtualized server environment will host and provide storage for Mater’s IT applications, including the new Carestream RIS/PACS, the Rochester, N.Y.-based company stated.
