FDA clears Riverain chest x-ray technology
Riverain Medical, a computer-aided detection company of image interpretation assistance, has received FDA clearance for its SoftView Enhanced chest imaging technology.
According to the Dayton, Ohio-based company, SoftView uses image processing and pattern recognition technologies to suppress bone in the chest x-ray.. The technology uses existing x-ray equipment to provide a soft tissue image for digital chest x-rays, and delivers no additional radiation dose to the patient.
SoftView is now available in the U.S., Europe, Canada and Australia.
