Carestream Vue RIS earns MU certification

Carestream Vue RIS  v. 11 is 2011/2012 compliant and was certified as a complete EHR on July 27 by the Certification Commission for Health Information in accordance with the applicable eligible provider certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Imaging centers with a Carestream Vue RIS do not need to purchase an EMR to address Stage 1 meaningful use requirements, according to Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream.

Vue RIS collects or tracks receipt of Stage 1 data (including an active patient medication list and a number of ambulatory clinical quality measures), and provides embedded voice recognition; critical results reporting; centralized patient scheduling and management reports that track patient referrals by physician and modality reading by each radiologist. RIS management tools provide profitability rates for each modality, patient wait times and volumes by modality or location, and the capability to examine imaging workflows.

Vue RIS contains a native American College of Radiology (ACR) peer review feature that tracks reviews of an original diagnosis by a second radiologist and meets requirements set by the ACR. It also provides auditing/tracking functions for mammography exams that enable organizations to become Mammography Quality Standards Act certified without the need for a separate mammography information system.
