Cambridge Health Alliance names Worthen CMIO

Hilary Worthen, MD, has been named CMIO of Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA), a three-hospital, Harvard-affiliated integrated public healthcare system that serves Cambridge, Somerville and Boston's metro-north region. Worthen most recently served as CHA's senior director of clinical informatics.

Over the past decade, Worthen has focused on helping CHA harness data to inform decisions and create a more optimal patient care environment, which includes clinical leadership to create, maintain and support EHRs, as well as electronic registries.

Worthen joined the Cambridge Hospital (now part of CHA) in 1974, and co-founded the Cambridge Family Health practice, served as medical director for adult and family ambulatory care and was medical director of inpatient medical and surgical services at the Cambridge Hospital.

In addition to the three hospital campuses, CHA includes a network of primary care and specialty practices, the Cambridge Public Health Department, and the Network Health plan. CHA is a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate and is also affiliated with Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine.
