Bos Sci merges IVUS with Philips, Siemens technology
A partnership between Boston Scientific, Philips Healthcare and Siemens Healthcare will enable Boston Scientific’s iLab intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) imaging system to be used in conjunction with Philips’ Allura Xper and Siemens' Axiom Artis and Artis zee interventional x-ray systems.
According to the Natick, Mass.-based company, its IVUS places a catheter into the heart or coronary vessels while high-frequency sound waves are reflected off the tissue and vessel walls to create cross-sectional image of the heart and vessels. The technology enables the use of various catheters for use with coronary, peripheral and intracardiac echocardiography solutions, said Boston Scientific.
