Australian hospital installs six Caresteam DRX-1 systems
Fremantle Hospital in Perth, Western Australia, has installed six Carestream Health's DRX-1 systems in general x-ray rooms across the 450-bed facility’s radiology and emergency departments.
By employing Carestream’s systems, Fremantle has experienced a total average exam time reduction of up to 40 percent, stated Greg Scott, chief medical imaging technologist at Fremantle.
According to the Rochester, N.Y.-based business, the DRX-1 system incorporates a console and a wireless, cassette-sized DR detector that provides a rapid conversion for users of radiographic film or CR systems.
Incorporating the same software and image processing capability as Carestream’s CR and DR systems and requiring no modifications to existing analog equipment, a healthcare facility can utilize one detector for many types of exams, according to the company.
