Acuo to manage image data in Pennsylvania, Canada

Medical image management provider Acuo Technologies has inked vendor neutral archiving contracts with Western Pennsylvania Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) of Pittsburgh and Medical Imaging Consultants (MIC) of Edmonton, Alberta.

By way of its DICOM Services Grid, both WPAHS and MIC will be granted control of existing medical data, including x-rays and cardiology images, and Acuo will provide an image management archive layer for future medical imaging content, stated the Bloomington, Minn.-headquartered company.

Both WPAHS and MIC will leverage the Acuo archive to provide its hospital EMR portal with one location to retrieve patient images, and the technologies will allow studies to be accessed across any of the health systems’ sites, said Acuo.
